When considering whether or not blackout shades are worth it, you might ask, "Don't all shades provide some sort of light blockage?" While the answer is technically yes, the degree to which that shade blocks light varies drastically.
While regular shades provide moderate light blockage, blackout shades block out nearly all external light, acting as a barrier against these disruptions to create a dark and tranquil atmosphere.
Many Hunter Douglas blackout shades come in varying degrees of opacity, allowing you to enjoy your perfect levels of light blockage. A lighter opacity will still let natural light in, whereas a darker opacity will block out a more substantial amount.
Best Rooms for Blackout Shades
